Welcome to the ‘Recognising Saddle Fit issues’ course for horse owners and riders. This short online course is designed to help you as a horse owner or rider, identify saddle fit issues to ensure your horses well-being.
You will know when its time to call out the saddle fitter and understand your horses behaviour in response to your saddle.

  • Know how to take templates of your horse for record keeping
  • Understand the points of the saddle and which parts of the saddle can do irreparable damage to your horse.
  • Know about the different types of saddles and why they are used for different disciplines
  • Be able to fault check a saddle and recognise faults with your saddleBe able to recognise signs of a poor fitting saddle in the horse and recognise when your horse is telling you something is wrong
  • Be able to recognise signs in yourself that a saddle is not fitting youKnow how to carry out a step by step saddle fit check to recognise when your saddle needs adjusting, or replacing.
  • Understand how accessories affect the fit of your saddle and know why it is important to use the correct saddle pad and girth.

FABULOUS SERVICE.

The ordering process was easy. An hour after I ordered I recieved a phone call checking the gullet size was correct for my pony. The saddle arrived the next day and was far better than I expected. You really wouldn't know it wasn't new. I would highly recommend the saddle bank for anyone wanting a good quality saddle at a reasonable price.

I was very impressed with the service the saddle bank gives. The saddle arrived in the morning, and as she had a cancellation my saddler was able to come and check the fit that afternoon. The saddle arrived well packaged, and in nearly new condition. I was very happy with the fit for both my pony and myself, and I now have a beautiful new looking dressage saddle, but without the price tag of a new saddle.
