Who are Silhouette Saddles?

Founded in 1991 Silhouette saddles brand themselves on using high quality, English leather. There saddles are built on a wood laminate tree for flexibility, comfort and they are lightweight too! This brand has worked hard to get a good reputation, and now they are known for offering good value saddles, with long lasting durability. They also have a 2 year warranty on their trees too.

Their panels are made with premium wool, with synthetic flocking, this eliminates clumping and maximises comfort and stability.

And, if you really want to stand out from the crowd, you can customise your saddle from new with diamantés, glitter or even fake snake skin!

What saddles do Silhouette offer?

Silhouette saddles are a big company and offer saddles in every discipline. They also have a feature collection too.
Whether you are a general purpose rider, or perhaps more specific, there is one out there for you.

Dressage, jumping, general purpose, showing, and even VSD (this is an in-between general purpose and dressage saddle), silhouette offers whichever one you desire.

What we really like in Silhouette saddles is that they offer a saddle for every rider at every level. For example, there are 6 current dressage models. These saddles also come in different types of trees, so it depends on the shape of your horse as to which one you would go for. The trees have cut back tree bars for extra scapular freedom.

There are 6 General Purpose/Event saddles, they offer saddles for more specific type disciplines too, this also includes a show saddle. The legacy classic GP saddle offers a luxury padded seat and is ideal for the rider who likes comfort, perhaps you enjoy those long rides. The thigh roll provides a secure leg position which helps to stop the leg from slipping back. This saddle is for the multi-discipline rider.

There are quite a few jump saddles available, the Insignia Jump saddle is one of the most popular previous models we see of Silhoutte here at The Saddle Bank, and the Vision Plus is one of their featured saddles. These saddles are made out of sticky high-quality leather and specifically designed for jumping due to the additional support for the rider, for example the external knee rolls.

What type of horses are Silhouette saddles suitable for?

Silhouette saddles have thought of everything when it comes to who they are applying too. Their saddles provide a wide gullet channel to allow enough room for your horses spine. If your saddle is pinching on your horse it can cause a lot of discomfort which will result in your horse showing negative behaviour, Silhouette saddles have eliminated this by their emphasis on design for the wider horses or horses with a wide spine, allowing more room and freedom no matter your horses shape.

These saddles are also suitable for big moving horses, these types of horses can easily become restricted. Or, perhaps your horse has large, prominent shoulders. Saddles with a long, forward cut can cause discomfort to the horses that have a big movement. In any discipline you do it is so important your horse can move freely and to their full potential. In dressage, this is a major factor, where the horse gets additional points for movement. So ensure you aren’t loosing yourself points by a simple factor such as your saddle!

What we really like about these saddles, here at the Saddle Bank is that they do a different type of tree for all different shapes and sizes of your horse. They also appeal to all different sizes of rider, they offer a saddle for the long and short limbed, to help keep you in place. Trust us when we say this makes all the difference!
