Albion K3 Sport Jump Saddle - review

The Albion K3 Sport Jump is the latest saddle released by Albion. We will look at the features of the saddle, and how it compares to the K2.

Who are Albion?

Albion England was established in 1985 with the aim of delivering supremely superior quality products, blending traditional values and artisan craftsmanship with  revolutionary innovation and state of the art technology. They are based in Walsall, West Midlands, where all of the Albion saddles including the trees are made.

Why the K3 Sport Jump Saddle?

The Albion K2 Jump has been one of the most popular jump saddles around since its launch in 2000, and the design had a facelift in 2014 - giving a much sleeker look and feel.

Given the popularity of the K2, still to this day, why have Albion released the K3 and how does it differ?

Albion answered riders requests for a lightweight, monoflap saddle, which was based on the ever popular K2.

The K3 Sport Jump features a super soft half deep seat, a pure wool flocked and felt lined panel, allowing minor adjustments for an unrivalled fit. The monoflap design helps to create a closer contact feel between the horse and rider, and a lighter weight saddle for the horse.

The main features of the K3 are:

  • Monoflap design
  • Lightweight
  • Modern
  • Silver fittings
  • Jumping hook stirrup bars
  • Albion's popular Adjusta-Tree
  • Wool flocking with a felt lined panel
  • Hide leather, with hardwearing full grain supple flap leather
  • Super soft, half deep seat
  • Standard flap length with a forward profile
  • Cushioned fixed knee and thigh blocks for support

Available in 16.5", 17", 17.5" and 18" with a 2.5" or 3" gusset, in widths N, NM, M, MM, MW, W, XW or made to template. The Ajusta-Tree means that the width can be altered up to 2 sizes up or down, by an Albion saddle fitter.
