We offer several flexible ways to sell or upgrade, so you can choose what works best for you:

• Outright Purchase - We buy your saddle directly for a guaranteed price. It is the fastest, simplest option for those who want a quick payout.
• Commission Sale - We sell your saddle on your behalf to achieve the best market value. Perfect if you are not in a hurry and want to maximise your return.
• Part Exchange (PX) - Trade in your current saddle towards your next one. You will receive a valuation for your existing saddle and can use that amount towards another. We will handle everything so you can swap quickly and easily.
• Old for New - Upgrade to a brand new saddle and get 10% of the value of your new saddle added to the amount we pay you for your old one. This applies to brand new saddles at full retail price and is a great way to upgrade with extra value.
• Buy Back - If you have purchased a saddle from The Saddle Bank within the last 9 months, we will buy it back at a guaranteed rate. This gives you peace of mind when your horse's shape or needs change, you already know what you will get back.

Our Part Exchange (PX) process makes upgrading smooth and stress free. First, get a quote for your current saddle, then choose the route that suits you:

• Trial First: Purchase a trial saddle to ensure the fit. If it is right, send us your existing saddle, we assess it, and refund the difference.
• Pay the Difference Upfront: We quote your saddle, you pay the difference to secure your new one, send us your old saddle, and once verified, we dispatch your new saddle immediately.

This option lets you change saddles easily while ensuring a good fit for both horse and rider.

If you are ready for a brand new saddle, our Old for New offer adds 10% of the value of your new saddle to your payout for the old one.

For example:
You buy a new saddle for £2,500 + delivery fee, we calculate 10% = £250.
Your existing saddle quoted at (amount we will pay you): £750
Total payout = £1,000

This offer is available on brand new saddles at full retail price only and is the perfect way to upgrade with added value.

If you have purchased a saddle from The Saddle Bank within the last 9 months, you can return it under our Guaranteed Buy Back Scheme.

We will buy back your saddle at a transparent rate:

• Used saddles: 20% less than your purchase price
• Ex demo saddles: 30% less
• Brand new saddles: 35% less

As long as it is returned in comparable condition (fair wear and tear is fine), we will inspect it, confirm the figure, and send your payment promptly.

This gives you complete peace of mind when buying, you already know the value you will get back if things change.

Your saddle must be sound, safe, and in a saleable condition.

During inspection, we check the integrity of the tree, stitching, girth straps, staples, and stirrup bars to ensure your saddle is safe and fit for purpose.

If we find a non repairable fault, the saddle will be returned to you.
If we find minor repairable issues (like small stitching repairs or replacement girth straps), we will quote accordingly before carrying out any work.

To avoid delays, we recommend you:

• Ask your saddle fitter to inspect it for you
• Or declare any minor issues such as stitching wear or cracked straps when requesting your quote

We have made this step as easy as possible:

1. Log into your account to book your collection.
2. Select your preferred collection date and confirm your pickup address.
3. Box your saddle securely - add padding around the pommel and cantle, protect the panels, remove accessories, seal the box and attach the label clearly.
4. Choose your method: use our insured courier label, arrange your own courier, or drop off in person.

Once your saddle arrives, our expert team carries out a full quality check to confirm its condition and safety.

Then:

• Outright Sale: You receive a same day bank transfer once your saddle passes inspection.
• Commission Sale: Your saddle is listed on our website, reaching around 50,000 monthly views, helping it sell faster.

We handle all communication, listing, and delivery, making it completely hassle free for you.

If we buy your saddle outright, we cover the courier fee.
If your saddle is listed on commission, the courier fee is your responsibility, but do not worry, we will confirm the cost before you book.

We accept quality English saddles from trusted brands, up to 18 inch seat size and medium width or wider.

Saddles that are faulty, damaged, require major repairs, or are from non approved brands unfortunately will not be eligible.

We are fast.

• Outright Purchase: Payment is made within 24 hours of your saddle passing inspection.
• Commission Sale: Timescales vary depending on brand, size, and demand, but with our large buyer audience, saddles often sell quickly.

All quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

Yes. Your quote can be used across our selling options, including Part Exchange, Old for New, and Buy Back. Our team will help you choose the option that best suits your needs.

Like most items, saddles naturally depreciate over time and brand new saddles will lose the most in depreciation once sold.

The price we offer is based from market value but you will not receive market value, as we have costs in processing, quality control, marketing, photography, and handling. We also need to make a small profit to pay our people and, of course, keep their horses happy.

We will always give you a fair and realistic valuation based on the saddle's condition, age, and current market demand.

If your brand is not listed, we are afraid we cannot take it.

Our accepted brand list is based on safety, quality, and demand to ensure we can sell your saddle successfully.

All quotes are issued within one business day.

If you do not receive your quote by email:

• Check your spam or junk folder
• Then create an account using the same email address you used to request your quote and log in
• You should see your quote under your account dashboard

If it is not there, please contact us and we will take a look for you right away.

Yes, we insure all parcels sent using our DPD courier service.

When you use our insured label and package your saddle securely, it is fully covered during transit.

Please ensure your packaging is secure and follows our guidelines. If your parcel is lost, we will handle everything directly with DPD on your behalf.

We just ask for your patience while DPD completes their searches and investigations before any payment is made, as lost parcels often reappear and can be delivered back to the sender.

All saddles sell, but some do take longer than others.

Typically, dressage saddles tend to sell more slowly than GP or jump saddles, and high end brands such as Devoucoux, Voltaire, Antares, or Prestige may take longer as they have specific flap lengths or panel configurations.

Standard, off the peg models usually sell faster, but please rest assured that we have the best audience to sell your saddle, both in the UK and globally.

We invest heavily in paid advertising and targeted marketing to ensure your saddle is seen by the right riders, giving you the best chance of a fast, successful sale.
