Who are Thorowgood?

Thorowgood are an English manufacturer of lightweight synthetic saddles. Their saddles are designed for the budget conscious rider who wants style at an affordable price. Thorowgood saddles benefit from the adjustable gullet head plates, which can easily be altered in a matter of minutes. They also come in a wide range of models to suit a variety of conformations, such as their Cob, Pony, High Wither, and Standard wither models.

What is special about the Thorowgood T8?

Thorowgood suggest the T8 is a hybrid saddle consisting of a quality leather outer (seat, knee pads, flaps) providing the feel of riding on an all leather saddle, with a synthetic under keeping this saddle lightweight, and easy to maintain.

The T8 is a great saddle for those who want a leather saddle on a synthetic saddle budget. One thing to note, is that Thorowgood and Kent and Masters are the same manufacturer. Their models are almost identical. Therefore, someone looking for a second hand Kent and Masters on a tight budget, may find they get a Thorowgood T8 in better condition for a similar price.

Note: We have also included their shortened code so that you can ensure you get the correct model for your horse. This code is located on a small label at the top, underneath the main flap.  The label will also state the seat size, and serial number which are both really useful for confirming the seat size and age of the saddle.
