How Did We End Up 1st?! Basil’s Dressage Adventure | August Update

I can't believe August is over! Time has flown by, but it was a great month for Basil and me as we finally did our first-ever dressage tests. It was a huge obstacle for me to overcome since I'd been putting it off for a while, and I'm so pleased with how well Basil behaved.

We did two intro tests, and while we had a little spook at the judge's box and lost some marks, I was still impressed with how he behaved overall. Even though we got some "crap scores" and I was disappointed with the marks, I was still so pleased with him.

A couple of weeks later, we went to Pickering Grange for another try. Basil was amazing, and I was so happy with how he behaved. We even got a first and a third place! I couldn't believe it when I saw the results. I'm so proud of him! This month, we're going to keep focusing on our dressage tests and working on his schooling and hacking out from home.
