Badminton Horse Trials 2023 Summary
Badminton Horse Trials is one of the most prestigious equestrian events in the world, attracting top riders and horses from around the globe. Held annually in early May at Badminton House in Gloucestershire, England, the event showcases three disciplines of equestrian sport: dressage, cross-country, and show jumping.
The Summary
2023 at Badminton saw torrential rain and a tough showjumping track, but nothing could stop Ros Canter from landing her first Badminton Horse Trials title. She scored a wide-margin victory at the 2023 event, presented by Mars Equestrian.
Rosalind Canter won overall on 11-year-old Lordships Gruffalo!
“People say it’s fulfilling a dream, but I don’t know if I even dreamt I could do it” said Ros. “It will
take a long time to sink in.”

Tom Crisp entertained the crowds following a tumble into the water!
Badminton Horse Trials worked with Riders Minds to be the first FEI event to have mental health support on-site for both riders and grooms. Riders Minds is an online bespoke resource dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of all horse riders, drivers and equestrians.
With over 500 retailers attending, Badminton’s vast shopping village is one of the many highlights of the event each year. From equestrian, food, fashion and lifestyle brands there is plenty to choose from!
It’s not all about shopping, this year, there were attractions to suit the whole family! From the Isuzu Off-road Challenge - a different kind of horse power, to the funfair. There was even a dog agility, for other furry members of the family!
