What are Saddle Makers?

Saddle making is an ancient craft that requires skill, precision, and a deep understanding of both equine anatomy and rider comfort.

The tradition of saddle making in the UK dates back centuries, with many established saddle makers tracing their roots to family-owned businesses that have been passed down through generations. These craftsmen often adhere to traditional methods of saddle making, combining time-honored techniques with modern innovations to create saddles that are not only functional but also works of art.

These artisans understand that every horse and rider combination is unique, requiring a tailored approach to saddle design. From selecting the finest leather to meticulously shaping the tree and panels, each step in the saddle making process is executed with precision to ensure a perfect fit and optimal performance.
